Edible Flowers Seed Set
A kit of three seed packets to help you grow edible flowers for your homemade salads, cocktails, and cakes.
Flowers are the most magical of ingredients for added flavor, nutrients, and whimsy to every plate. Grow Nasturtium, Calendula, and Borage for your next farm-to-table experience.
Nasturtium Blue Pepe: A unique European variety bred specifically for culinary use. Full of flavor and a colorful splash to any recipe. The bright-red flowers and steel-blue leaves make an attractive addition to salads and garnishes for stir-fries. Their peppery flavor becomes spicier when the flowers are grown in sunnier, hotter weather.
Erfurter Orangefarbige: A variety of calendula bred specifically for its medicinal virtues. Although the whole plant can be used as a culinary and medicinal herb, the bright orange flowers alone are recommended for kitchen use today. The flowers are mild-tasting and slightly sweet and can be used in savory or sweet dishes. When dried, the petals can be used to create natural dyes.
Borage: Also known as the starflower, is an edible ornamental and medical plant. Pliny the Elder said borage leaves "drives away sadness, dullness, and melancholy." It's no surprise this flowered mix has become a favorite in modern mixology—commonly used in cocktails like the gin-based Pimm's Cup.
The packaging includes an in-depth report on each plant along with instructions on sowing, timing, spacing, growing, caring, supporting, harvesting, and eating!
