The Power of Little Things During a Big Season

HOW DO YOU SAY "THANK YOU" FOR SUNSHINE OR HEALTH...FOR CLEAR DAYS OR GENTLE RAINS...FOR HAPPINESS, JOY, OR LOVE? YOU SAY IT BY SHARING WHAT YOU HAVE. YOU SAY IT BY MAKING THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE IN WHICH TO LIVE." - THOMAS D. WILLHITE

I am always struck by how much the little things matter this time of year. Kind smiles, curiosity, listening, handwritten notes, and even a call—just to check in. Even in the busyness of life, work, and navigating feelings over the news, I find myself prioritizing as many little things as possible.

It got me thinking about how our society values things based on their size, grandeur, loudness, or entertainment value. Large stores filled with options, gifts with high price tags, huge savings, and more to consume, purchase, and store. It's as if the small things we hold dear get overshadowed or disregarded by the message of scarcity and competition. In a world that tells you bigger is better, I want to be the person who reminds you that it's the little things that have the most impact.

Small gestures, trusting your intuition, appreciating love languages, having supportive intentions, performing acts of kindness, and expressing gratitude are what make up the little things. These seemingly fleeting moments shape communities, acknowledge privilege, strengthen relationships, and nurture love. It's the little things that truly matter.

So while you navigate through a season that constantly grows louder and more attention-seeking, it's your kindness, authenticity, generosity, and openness that we value here at AM. You are not just an email, an order number, or a follower. You are not a little thing, you are everything, and I am incredibly grateful for you.

I hope you take the time today to do one small, kind, and leisurely thing for yourself and a loved one—you deserve it. If you need any ideas, I'm just a click away.

Ardently,

Em
