We are a human first business, which means that we care deeply for our community of many artists, makers, customers, and subscribers. Operating within a time where we are separating ourselves from faceless companies also means recognizing that I am a human running this business. Sometimes it is hard to admit that I am just one person, and I am very tired.
In the rush of the holiday season, my family and I also had to face the loss of my grandma. A wife for 66 years, with four children, eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren — She is incredibly missed. The reader, music lover, and sometimes-recipe-follower in me will always be grateful for her and a little heartsick from this loss.
In order to celebrate her life and support my grandfather through his first holiday without her, I am temporarily pausing the processing of orders. All orders placed after 12/18/20 will be processed in the New Year.
You have blessed me time and time again with your community and support. I understand that this change in schedule might be inconvenient during your holiday plans, and again, I thank you for your kindness during this time.
I hope you can spend time with your families, friends, and loved ones in any way that is safe and possible. I hope you have tremendous comfort in the pockets of familiarity and grace in new traditions in an unfamiliar and unprecedented year. I wish you merriment and hope in the New Year.
I'm deeply grateful for you and the space I am asking you to hold for myself and my family. Your kind messages and emails have been felt heartily by myself and my loved ones. You are cherished beyond belief.
I look forward to the magic we can create together in the 2021—endless blessings to you.
